Being slaves to Buyers
April 8, 2009

Well the day started early with a buyer wanting to see if he could get in to see a house before he flew back to London. His flight left at 10:00am! Luckily we could. He's going to let me know tomorrow. Here in Naples and the west coast of Florida we have a lot of foreigners that come and buy here. I am actually from Canada and have been successful by helping buyers out with tax situations and what to do when purchasing an investment property! Can I tell you what is the only draw back of my job. ( ok not the only one) I have to keep my car clean. For all my friends out there they will tell you I am a slob! I mean they tell me it's a gift how fast I can trash a place! I'm not proud of this, but at this point...I'm admitting defeat. I don't have to clean the car I have to shovel it out! Between all the paperwork that comes with my job, I have two kids and one of them is taking after her mother! It's a constant struggle. I did once hear a sales coach say that people that were a bit disorganized made better sales professionals! ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) I finally did get an offer from yesterday... As of 5:00 pm today the Atlantic ocean is between the offer and the list price! We are going to stay hopeful...I'll let you know tomorrow.
Tip of the day! I fully understand why buyers are throwing low ball offers at sellers. It's a buyers market. I'm doing it myself. But the difference I believe is that I am educating my clients on the values in the area. I try to have a counter offer in mind, and what their stopping point should be. Agents need to educate their clients to the best of their ability and take the reins back!
